Retail Presence Diagnostic
We go and see what the shelf is actually doing.
Two to three weeks · Report plus one review session
The store is open every day, and almost none of what happens in front of it reaches head office. Only the numbers do.
This service fills that gap. We go in person, set the store beside others in the same mall, and write down what is worth touching first.
You'd use this when
- Sales are short of plan and there are too many candidate causes
- You need to explain the local situation to head office without evidence to hand
- The retailer is asking for improvement and you are unsure where to begin
- You would like the lightest possible way to work with us once
How it actually runs
Which store, judged against what. If there are several things you want looked at, we cut it to one here.
Social, reviews, search results, retailer pages, in that order. This is where the questions for the store visit come from.
The store itself, plus two or three comparisons inside the same mall. At least twice, on different days and at different hours.
Go once and you've seen that afternoon, not that store.
The report comes first; we talk for an hour once you've read it.
The questions that come from reading it often matter more than the report.
What you're left with
- 01The diagnostic report, under ten pages, in Korean and English
- 02A one-page summary at the front, written to go straight into a head-office deck
- 03Observation photographs, each with date, hour and conditions attached
- 04Three to five ranked priorities, split into what can be done now and what takes time
- 05One hour of review
What we need from you
- 01Store list and addresses
- 02The last six months of sales movement. Exact figures aren't necessary
- 03Any constraints in the retailer agreement we should know about
- 04Thirty minutes from one person
SAMPLE
What the report looks like
The report below is an example, not a client document. Names and locations are anonymised and the observations are illustrative. What it does show is the format: what goes on each page, and how we record the conditions an observation was made under.
What counts as success
If you close the report knowing what happens next, it worked.
Sales moving is not the goal of this stage. Narrowing what is holding sales down from a list of suspects to a cause — that is the goal.
If entry itself isn't settled yet, North America Market Entry comes first.
When this isn't the right service
If you have already settled what to do and only need people to run it, skip the diagnostic and go to ACTIVATE.
If there is no store yet, there is nothing to observe. North America Market Entry is the fit.
Ten or more stores at once won't hold depth in this format. That needs to be designed separately.
