We make a brand's next choice clear, in a market that rarely is.

A clarion is a signal that carries — one that wakes people, gathers them, moves them. For us that signal is not a louder voice. It is a clear direction.

We work in three stages. You can start at whichever one you need right now.

Clarify

The direction isn't set.

We decide what the most important choice is right now. Starting from an in-store diagnostic through to market entry strategy and the language of the brand itself.

Set the direction

Activate

The plan isn't moving.

We turn the direction into something that actually happens in front of shelves and customers. Retail activation, grand openings, influencers, retail media.

Move it to the floor

Sustain

The momentum doesn't hold.

We leave behind a repeatable structure rather than a single result. Fractional lead, sales dashboards, content and design.

Build the system

Possibility alone does not move a market.

We often see brands stall even with a good product and a real opportunity. In our experience it happens at three points.

[ 01 ]

Plenty of information. No decision.

[ 02 ]

A plan in place. No one to carry it out.

[ 03 ]

Results came in. No one knows why.

The numbers went up, but it isn't clear whether that was the location, the season, or the work. Without that, there is no way to decide what to repeat next time and what to drop.

All three come from the same place: the most important choice was never made clear. Only when the choice is clear do people and resources start moving the same way.

Clarity is not the same as certainty.

The clarity we mean is not a claim to predict the future. It is the work of separating what we know from what we don't, deciding which of those to act on first, and being explicit about the reasoning and the measure of success.

So we don't wait for the uncertainty to disappear. We choose the most defensible direction with the evidence we have, move on it, and sharpen it against how the market responds.

We do not claim certainty. We create clarity.

There have only ever been four waysto get the work done in North America.

When a brand actually needs something to happen on a North American shelf, the options are fairly fixed. Each has a real advantage, and an equally real limit.

OptionWhat it actually costsThe limit
Hire a local marketing leadCA$110,000–135,000 a year at senior level, plus 3–6 months to hire and a year to build a networkMore than a year to a first result. A heavy fixed cost for an early-stage brand.
Retain a local agencyCA$5,000–15,000 a month for partial servicesLittle visibility into the Korean head office's context, and most stop at online. They don't go to the shelf.
Leave it to the distributorNo separate costDistributors carry many brands at once. Work for your brand alone rarely comes out of it.
Fly the head-office team inFlights and accommodationIt ends when the trip ends. What was learned on site doesn't carry into the next one.

Clarion & Co.

One team for both the strategy and the work. As much as you need, for as long as you need.

We don't start with a category. We start with the situation.

We do look closely at the category. A K-beauty shelf and a restaurant floor are built on completely different logic, and without knowing that difference even a good strategy fails on site.

But the question we run into is the same whichever the category. How do you get someone walking past the door to come in, and how do you keep them from simply walking back out. So the first thing we ask is not what you sell. It is where you are standing.

[ 01 ]

Already in market, without anyone to run the floor

[ 02 ]

Opening North America for the first time

[ 03 ]

Stores in place, but sales growth has stalled — retailers and brands alike

[ 04 ]

More locations, but execution varies from one to the next

All four share one thing. The opportunity is visible; the next move isn't decided.

  1. 01ListenWe hear the goals, the context, the constraints — and the concerns not yet put into words.
  2. 02DistillWe keep only the signals that matter right now.
  3. 03ClarifyWe make the core question, the priorities and the measure of success explicit.
  4. 04AlignWe get brand, partners and the working team looking at the same target.
  5. 05ActivateWe turn direction into campaigns, retail experience, schedules and ownership.
  6. 06Learn & AmplifyWe read results against the original hypothesis and feed them into the next choice.
[ 01 ]

What do we know right now?

[ 02 ]

What do we not know yet?

[ 03 ]

What do we try first?

[ 04 ]

What will count as success?

[ 05 ]

How does the result change the next choice?

The person you meetis the person who does the work.

Chloe

Founder

Ten years in marketing — at one of the three largest beauty companies in Korea, and before that on the brand side, at an agency, and at a distributor. The same project, seen three times from three different seats.

On the brand side she couldn't understand why stores wouldn't do what was asked. At the agency she couldn't understand why brands asked for what they did. It took the distributor seat to see that both had their reasons.

She lives in Canada now — so she reads what a Korean head office is worried about and what a store on the ground actually can't do, and gives both the same weight. That is how she works.

Collaborator network

Designers, photographers, producers and retail crews we have worked with before, brought in per engagement rather than kept on payroll.

Let's start by working outwhat matters most right now.

We listen first. What you need comes after that.
